Vallejo True Metallic Metal contains 80 acrylic colors divided into 20 color families specifically developed for fantasy, historical, and sci-fi miniatures. It’s a sophisticated 4-step system: Base-Light-Shade-Airbrush, with each color available in its respective version. This allows you to build metallic surfaces step by step: from the opaque base color to targeted lightening and realistic shadows , all the way to the airbrush version for larger areas.
The airbrush version was specially developed for use with the airbrush. It features a viscosity-optimized formulation and the right surface tension, allowing it to be applied directly from the nozzle in the same color as the base version.
If you work with an airbrush, you should know the basics of pressure, nozzle diameter, and spraying technique. The airbrush version of True Metallic Metal is optimally tailored to this application, allowing it to be sprayed efficiently directly from the bottle without the need for heavy thinning or adjustments. It’s perfect for quickly priming large areas or achieving gentle smoothing effects, making it an ideal complement to the base version.
For airbrush application, Vallejo recommends a setting of approximately 1520 PSI and, if necessary, the use of Vallejo Airbrush Thinner for thinner layers.
